Right?? But a few years back a Unimog did roll on Old Ore Road, so I guess anything's possible....

You have to screw up pretty bad to flop over a Mog.

A couple of notes from reading all this.

1) not going to vapor lock the gas tank unless the vent is non functional, it has a vent and if the purge valve or vent doesnt work it will definitely throw a code specific to this issue, happens more than not after filling up.

2) It would not shock me to see this being related to the fuel pump cutoff circuit. If I had to guess since I dont have a Bronco, that its located somewhere behind the rear seat kick panels or rear trunk area panels like all Fords that have one. Yall should find it so it can be referenced in the future.

3) hard resets you dont have to wait 30 min. Just tap the brake pedal a bunch of times and it will drain out charge left in the system.

4) Invest in a cheap OBII bluetooth scanner, it will save you some time in getting answers if there are codes which 99% of the time there is one (do it before you go hard resetting anything also)

5) If I was going off the grid no matter what, I would be investing in either a satellite text pager or Garmin InReach.

after digging some, I guess it doesnt have one, Ford changed them not sure what year. They use a built in one that is tied to the restraints control module. Someone on here already posted the sequence to get around it so I learned something new on this.

If you haven’t already, check fuses. There are fuel pump, injector, ignition fuses. You said it cranks so not starter or starter fuse.

Ford's capless fuel has been used for 15+ years with no issue. And now every other manufacturer is beginning to use them. whatever this issue, it is not the capless

OP, try pushing open the fuel filler flap. The fuel tank may be vapor locked and not letting the fuel pump push fuel to the engine. The incline may have momentarily starved the fuel pump and the tank vacuum now won't let the pump push the fuel.

I know you said the tank was full of fuel, so it's a low chance fuel starvation was caused by the incline, but if the tank venting system is faulty, it might be the case. The Ford capless fuel tank is new to me so I don't know how it keeps the tank sealed at the filler neck. I'd try using the emergency fuel funnel that is in the trunk to open the tank.

Just a thought.

My money is on the fuel pump. Have you checked to see if you have fuel pressure by disconnecting the line and having someone turn the key on to see if you have pressure? Got to have pressure, injector pulse, and coil pulse, all easily checkable....along with compression.

That does suck. :(

You should be in the clear as far as the engine problem I was referring to. It must be something else.
Does anyone know for sure when the 2.7L engine was built that was put in their bronco? If so, how can I tell/find out? Mine OBX was built mid December, so I thought the engine might have possible been built before that, which COULD put me in the October engine with the issue. I'm just past the 2000 mile mark, but it would be nice to feel like I don't have to worry. (I know there could always be something else, LOL)
