No Bronco yet, in Wa State but LOVE your posts man. I have been to Boise for work a few times and head up into the paved roads in the hills to check things out and see tons of dirt roads heading off to who knows where.

Once I get my Bronco I am heading that way for sure.

Had a question for you though...I read a lot of concern on the tank size on the 2 door. Does the range of the small tank ever get in your way as far as planning where you go? I love the 2 door and that is what I am getting myself.

I can count on 300 miles from a tank, which is 50 more than either of my motorcycles can go. If I'm concerned about range, I just top it off before heading into the wilderness. I can't figure out how to go 300 miles around here without encountering another fuel source, so I don't worry about running out of fuel.

I use Idaho Forest Service maps to find new roads, then mark them when I've been on them. That has led me to a lot of interesting places.

makes total sense. I wasn't planning on getting a SAS package so either stock balands or black diamond or a Big Bend with a locker. How much do you feel you need the SAS tires and extra bit of clearance in your exploring the ID forests? From the pics those roads are exactly the type of surface I am looking to explore. not interested in rock crawling if I can help it.

I could get by with a non-Sasquatch Bronco about 90% of the time, but when I need it, I'm glad that I have it. The larger tires work better when I air down to get a smoother ride and better traction. And I've reached the point where I pretty much air down all the time when I get to the dirt.

It's not just the tires and extra clearance, but having the better suspension and lockers front and rear makes the difference between tearing up the road on some steep parts due to wheel spin and going smoothly up that stuff. I've needed it on the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands NP, on the road to Tower Arch in Arches NP, on the road down to the Snake River upstream from Swan Falls Dam, and climbing to the top of Hayden Peak in the Owyhee Mountains.

The main reason I ordered Sasquatch is so that I know I have the capability to go where I want rather than worrying if the vehicle is up to it.

Bring your own lunch.

And... let me know if you'll be joining us.

We didn't really pose the vehicles for photos, but we made the drive and here are a few that I took. We didn't make it to the lookout, due to a locked gate and not wanting to hike over a mile to it. But we drove around the back side of that mountain until it got too narrow to keep from scratching our doors up.

We stopped here to air down the tires before heading up the dirt and gravel roads.
