I have purchase new an Alpha 2 tow bar when installing my flat tow on my 2024 4 door. I’ve towed several thousand miles to date and have brought the arms up and over for storage no more than 20 times. The force to rotate to get the pin into the slot is increasingly harder. I’ve called Blue Ox and spoke to someone who was little help on how to alleviate and only suggested to bring to an authorized dealer. I want to attempt on my own after this trip I am currently on. I’ve sprayed down with water at the joint and it only helps a bit. Has anyone attempted to loosen the bolt that holds the U shaped block in order to decrease the resistance? The arms would have to be removed to access the bolt, then use a deep socket within the receiver to access what must be a prevailing torque lock but. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
