Good to know, I thought most dealers required 500-1000 dollars when the order was submitted? That not the case?
Not here at my dealer in GA. No further deposit required. They just stuck with straight MSRP plus some specific standard junk fees for documentation. Seemed as reasonable as could be expected from a dealer lol.

Unless they have an order already coming in that was 'cancelled' that matches yours, or a mannequin they think they can transfer to you, seems unlikely.

Today is Thursday!

and why does everyone here assume this >> (figured they would be happy as it meant they could sell it for markup rather than honoring our MSRP deal) ??

Hey guys,

Had a bizarre interaction with my dealer today I wanted some opinions on. I was planning on cancelling my order, no fault to Ford I just don't have a build date or VIN number yet and am not in a position to wait months for another vehicle. I emailed my dealer to do this (figured they would be happy as it meant they could sell it for markup rather than honoring our MSRP deal). However they replied saying that just by removing the tow package they could get it much much sooner, I basically told them that was bullshit as I have a 2 door MIC top Sasquatch package BD. After a few hours I told him I'd still like to cancel, however he replied saying that they already submitted the new order with no tow package and already received a build date and a VIN number. There is absolutely no way the turn around is that quick right? Is this classic dealer fuckery? They are supposed to call me tomorrow morning with my VIN number.
"I don't have it our ordering guys does he's out for the night" blah blah blah....
I have my doubts about the build being scheduled and already having an assigned VIN, but that will become clear shortly, one way or another.

I will, however, speculate that, if he’s a small dealer with very few orders (minimum of 5), he may be legitimately concerned about you abandoning your order, because it may put the dealership at risk of violating the Bronco Name Match Integrity Policy. This could cause his future Bronco allocations to be reduced. Small dealers often ask for large deposits on special orders (sometimes non-refundable, unless prohibited by state law) to minimize the risk of abandonment.
