BigBend Stock bumper- Mini Bull Bar

So it appears that the Stock front bumper on the 2024 BigBend does not have the bumper bolts for putting on a Mini Bull bar.
So If I want to change from bumper to a stock bumper with the bumper bolts that accept the mini bull Bar .

Will it fit?
Here's the stock bumper and as you can see no bolts for the Mini Bull Bar

The bumper bolts are behind the covers between the fog lights and grille opening

For the plastic bumper, there is nothing available that is on the low profile side. Anything that would fit will look like a law enforcement push bar . You will need a modular bumper. We are currently working on a bull bar system for the capable bumper. It should be ready for sale by March.

Bronco has 3 factory bumpers, and dozens of aftermarket options

The one you have is often called the Standard, or Plastic bumper. Yeah it’s a bit limited. There are a couple of options for it, but it isn’t a deep catalog and most vendors just stay away from it.

The next step up is called the Capable bumper. It has the squarish D recovery links that hang down. It’s mostly steel with some plastic trim, but it also lacks a lot of bolt-on ready options. You can find these as takeoffs but there’s not really any other upgrade path to them.

The Modular bumper is the one you see that has all the bolts and most accessories are built to bolt right on. It’s all steel (with one set of small plastic trim panels around the recovery points). Ford just released this as an aftermarket upgrade through Ford Performance, and there have long been knockoffs (“the China mod bumper”) and takeoffs from people upgrading theirs to aftermarket options.

So all of that said - I had the Standard bumper. I could never find a bull bar I liked enough to try anything with — most of the options looked like they would crumple if you tapped anything with them and cause a lot of additional damage elsewhere. Like IAG mentions they have to bolt on pretty low at the frame and kind of wrap around. I eventually went the Knock-off option and now have the Ford Winch with its mini-bar on the front.

That a capable bumper, they run between $75-200 on Craigslist/FB Marketplace.

Yes it will bolt right up - with the caveat that you either have to cut off your existing recovery rings (sawzall or cutoff wheel) or replace the intercooler mounts with a version that doesn’t have integrated recovery rings.

On the Standard bumper those recovery points are part of the intercooler mount and directly bolted onto the frame separate from the bumper itself. The other bumpers it’s a bracket with the bumper and part of how the bumper mounts to the frame.

Not a hard thing to do either way you go really, just depends on if you feel comfortable cutting those off or want to spend a bit more to just replace the mount

Not certain if it has the same fog light harness or not - but that can be easily corrected

Yup . That Kuafu sells the Chinese knock off bumpers on Amazon - it’s where I got my knock off mod bumper. Don’t expect much in the box (you get what you pay for after all) but the vendor was good to work with, and I’ve been happy with my purchase at a good price
