So I have a Big Bend on order with the 2.7 and rear locker optioned, among some others. I really thought about the black diamond but I prefer the sandstone cloth interior, having the washout flooring isn’t a big deal to me.

My thoughts are I can add rock rails, bash plates, and bigger tires to the existing rims after market later and basically have the same capabilities as a BD. Am I correct or am I missing something? I don’t mind missing out on 4A as I won’t really see much snow in SoCal and the Mojave desert. Are stock BB and BD rims the same width? All feedback welcome.

Both models are 7.5” wide with 55mm offset , and both models share same suspension, so any tires that work on BD will have same results on BB

Agreed. BB is the way to go. Customize after market.

There are few other things. You get an extra GOAT mode on BD. Here is a chart that @Cali Gaucho posted that compares them.
