I know that the Sasquatch package comes with beadlock capable rims, but I haven't seen anything explaining what is involved in converting them. Is there already a thread about this?

Also, what are the disadvantages of a beadlock rim. If there were no disadvantages, I'm assuming Ford would have made them beadlock directly from the factory.

I'm mainly curious because I might want to drop the pressure down below 10 psi for some of the rougher terrain around here and it would be nice to not have to worry about a tire coming off of the bead.

Thanks for any help on this.

Yes there are threads about it.
LSS - not DOT highway legal because of having to keep the lock ring bolts at a certain torque setting. Other than that it is a matter of taking off the trim ring, dismounting the outside 1/2 or the tire, sandwiching that side of the tire with the pressure ring.

You have to buy the beadlock rings to convert. They should run around $200 a wheel.

Disadvantages: the legality of beadlocks is a gray area. Most manufacturers state for off-road use only. Most tire shops will not mount them.

Looks like tire just goes outside the lip and you bolt the new rings on.
