OP baja does work in 2wd mode on the street however its a .... strange experience. The first two gears are obnoxiously long and in a 10 speed that isnt fun.

I recently put sport on my badlands and while its not as DIFFERENT as baja i think its the experience most people want. I suggest you start researching how to use forscan or find somebody in your area who can enable it for you , only takes a few mins.

However ultimately while sport mode is fun , its not the true "unlocking" experience i hoped it would be.

I Hope ford releases a tune that gives us our first 2 gears back. Otherwise only aftermarket tunes might be the answer to the "torque limitation".

EDIT

Can any off road guys explain why baja feels so awful? i cant imagine it being any better offroad , i tried using it at the beach and felt like my transmission was going to explode if i kept using it

Sport mode is interesting, but it is not going to give you the punch your looking for. Nothing will, until there is a tune that allows proper boost and torque in the first two gears.

I read somewhere ford went with a weaker transmission on the bronco so it might never have the punch the f150 does due to the torque limiter

I am not looking for or expecting exhilarating performance. I have others cars that do that. I just dont want it to be a complete slug.

You'll give up Rock Crawl mode and sway bar disconnect if you go Wildtrax. I honestly don't know why anyone would go with a Wildtrax when you can easily add Sport mode to the Badlands. Plus you get washout floors and the vinyl seats if you'd like. I'm so happy I don't have carpet and don't have to worry about my MGV seats.

I'd stick with the Badlands, add Sport mode via Forscan, and if that isn't enough for you, then add a tune and/or pedal commander. Honestly, you'd be doing that with the Wildtrax as well if the 2.7 with Sport mode wasn't enough.

Does adding sport mode via forscan cause issues with your warranty?

I'd say not at all. I've brought it in a couple of times for an unrelated problem with charging/battery and I've wondered if they'd reset the settings or even noticed it, but I don't think they even know it's enabled.

They would only make a claim like that if an aftermarket change you made had a specific and direct impact on the failure of a component. Adding Sport mode won't cause failure of anything.

It helps keep the turbos spooled. It'll shift eventually. I used it when I was running high speeds on the beach and liked it.
