Funny, I actually wish that my '24 2.7 4dr had automatic parking brake engagement after putting the truck in park, like my other vehicle. I looked in Forscan but couldn't find a way to make this happen. It should be possible with Forscan but I cannot locate how.

Probably one of the few with this opinion, but if people would stop referring to it as a ā€œ e brakeā€ it would probably help.
That's all fine, but here's a quote from page 198 of the 2021 Owner's Manual:
APPLYING THE ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE IN AN EMERGENCY

You can use the electric parking brake to slow or stop your vehicle in an emergency.

1. Pull the switch up and hold it. The electric parking brake continues to slow your vehicle down unless you release the switch.
It seems that you can actually use it as an emergency brake.

I've tested mine a couple of times just to make sure that I understand how it actually works so that I'll know in case of an actual emergency.

True you can but its primary function is as a ā€œparking brakeā€ as listed in the owners manual. By normalizing calling it the emergency brake people stop thinking about using it when parking.

There isn’t one. Passenger vehicles don’t come with redundant systems like that. The manufacturer assumes that in the event of a failure in the hydraulic brake system you will be able to downshift to reduce the speed. Engaging an electronic break that completely locks the rear wheels would result in a serious loss of control at almost any speed above 2-3 mph. Look at the logo on the brake in the bronco. P is not for pemergency.

You need to go try it out and find out what it really does. It DOES NOT lock the rear wheels. You shouldn't just make stuff up like this.

Ya no thanks. I prefer not to intentionally damage my vehicle.

Just so you know, Boomer here and have done 90% of all of my vehicle repairs.

Yes, that is a Park Brake and passenger vehicles do/did come with such an item. They (Emergency Brake) used to be a Total Mechanical System used when there was a failure of the Hydraulic System.

So... now... what happens when you have a Total Failure of the Braking & Electrical Systems.
Just hope that you can Coast Safely to where the vehicle comes to a complete stop???? (sarcasm)

I do understand the inner workings of an automatic transmission, along with the Parking Paw inside, along with it's limitations, but for a vehicle that's "supposed" to be designed to directly compete against Jeeps in the Offroad environment, I question @fomoco decision to not have a Manual Hand E-Brake on at least the MT equipped Broncos.

No worries. I will never, ever, use this stupid abomination of a parking brake when parked.

Is this your first manual transmission vehicle?
This. In 25 years of driving manuals I have never forgotten the E-brake. It just happens naturally, like checking your mirrors or putting your seatbelt on.

Dumb idea. The parking brake saves wear on your transmission when you put it in park. According to the guys at the Bronco Off-Roadeo, the best way to do it is to shift to neutral, put on the parking brake, release the foot brake, THEN stick it in park. This is especially important while parked on an incline. Just shoving it in park, especially on a hill, stresses transmission parts.

What is Park? I leave it in 1st or Reverse like a normal person.

Besides being hard to use because the switch is in a ridiculous location, the electronic brake needs power to operate. So if you use it and your battery dies you can't even push your car out of a spot to make a jump start easier.

It "appears" that some are forgetting that we are discussing this in regards to Manual Transmissions. Because I can understand their responses if this was being discussed in regards to an Automatic Transmission.

Come on @fomoco, give the MT Bronco a True Manual Hand Brake....

Alright, gonna hopelessly post this message and not expect a true answer, but here I go.

I have a 7-MT. I 100% of the time use the electronic parking brake switch. About ~3 times the switch has failed to actuate the brake, since I flicked it too fast. I am looking for a "reminder" for piece of mind that it actually engages. Preferably audible (honk if engine off, parking brake not applied door opens). I have made a habit of looking for the brake indicator to flash and turn solid when it is applied but it is hard to remember in a rush.

Is there an answer on this or any of the other threads to any solution besides "park in gear", "don't be stupid", or "get an automatic". I have not seen any way to do this.

I ask for constructive responses but I am not holding out hope.

I have an AT, but when I have my foot on the brake and actuate the parking brake, I can feel the pedal start to sponge out and go (closer) to the floor. I don’t even need to look for the red parking on the dash to know it’s engaged. I can feel it in my foot.
