Auto Trans Stuck in 1st Gear

This just happened to me. Bronco would not upshift coming out of a stop at a light.

I thought maybe I accidentally was in M. I was not. I was in D.

I shifted to N and back to D. It would not upshift.

I pulled over, put the transmission in P and cut the engine and re-started the engine, put in D and drove off. All a-ok since.

Did you ever figure anything out?

sorry if I’m being dense, but I didn’t understand your story about buying more transmission fluid. Is the Bronco a sealed system and you can’t add more fluid?

Dipstick is on the side of the transmission and only accessible underneath.

This morning I pulled my Bronco out of the driveway. I headed down the street and cruised up to the stop sign within in 200 feet from my house. Hung a left and the transmission would not shift from first to second. I had the auto stop/start disengaged. Drove about 100 yards more to another stop sign and still no shift. Pulled away from the stop sign was about to hang a u-turn and the trans shifted to second. drove it for a while and everything appeared to be normal and it has been running normal ever since. Has anyone else had this happen? It is a Badlands four door with the 2.7L

Hi I believe this is what happened to me this past weekend. I reported it to the National Safety board.

This has happened to me twice. Once today and again about two months back. Both coming out of a red light after driving for about an hour. Had to put in M and back into D to get it to shift. Also has Auto Engine Shut Off disengaged. Anyone take it in to Ford? What was transmission fluid level at? 24 2.7 WT 4D
