Has anyone just changed their sub and amp in their B&O system? If so how hard was it and what all was needed? This is my first bronco and am thinking about tackling this myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a 2023 Badlands 4 door

The amp itself is not just an amp... it is a full on DSP/amp combo that handles all of the signal processing for every speaker in the Bronco.

So you either have to...
  • Replace the DSP/Amp with an aftermarket one—such as the one @mObridge makes.
  • Use an A2B preamp to feed an external amplifier, like the one from PAC Audio or mObridge.
  • Add a new amp and connect it to the output of the existing factory DSP/amp.
Pick your poison.

Yeah, B&O is harder to upgrade than the standard radio is.

You -maybe- could do a speaker-level amp and call it a day, but it’s definitely not a recommended route on the subwoofer.

I got a quote for a sub amp and the JL audio stealth box installed for about $2200. A few other pieces needed. I can share the quote if you want

If you could share it I would really appreciate it.

I did full speaker swap and swapped sub for a Kicker Comp R 8 mated to a Kicker key 500.1. Did the install myself all for less than $2k - including wiring, poly fill and kilmat. The kick panels were a little more difficult because of how Ford did the wire harness and the adapters you need to use but still not difficult. The rear panel that the sub sits behind is a pain because there are so many clips on back you can't see - you will break a few.

The 5 cabin speakers were so easy I literally forgot to take pics. I used Infinity Ref 407 in the 5 main speakers, Memphis MOJO Pro 6 in the kicks and the Comp R 8 4 ohm Dual Voice Coil wired in Parallel to take it to 2 ohm. Very happy with the sound now.
