I’m planning to build a down firing enclosure platform like some of you here. Initially I was thinking of just a platform with a loaded 10” kicker comprt box + passive radiator sitting under the platform. Now I’m planning to build a custom box that is part of the platform, which has a side effect of allowing me to obsess over different options 
I have a budget of about $350 for sub and amp, which could get me a comprt + amp, but now I’m seeing sales on the harmon subs: infinity ref1200s and jbl ws1200. They don’t have the same power handling or xmax as the kickers, but they are cheap (could get a pair for the price of a comprt). Does anyone have any experience with either?
