I purchased my current Bronco slightly used and the previous owner swapped out the antenna to a smaller stubby one and for some reason he also changed the aerial assembly. The gentleman that purchased my Bronco had passed away unexpectedly and I purchased it from his wife so I can't ask him why he made the change. I actually wanted to use the OEM antenna but when I screw it on, it's a tad bit to long and you can still see some threads. Looking through the receipts I received with the Bronco I see he purchased an aerial assembly (M2DZ 18A984 A) from his ford dealer. No clue why...anyone have any ideas?
On a side note, he also had a gun safe in there and his family didn't know the combination. It was empty but I still wanted to use it sometimes if possible. I knew he retired from Ford and it was 3 digits so on a hunch I tried Ford motors....no luck with 289 but hit the jackpot on my 2nd try with 302!
