Getting too hot, thermal overheating, power or ground might have issues, short circuit or bad speaker impedance. All of those things could trigger protection mode on the amp. Ton of things it could be. Maybe speaker is wired for less than 2 ohms and amp can’t handle it.
Mine does something similar. There is a SSM-5447 OTA update that was supposed to be announced 2Q of 2026 but I haven’t heard of one dropping or any updates at all.
In fact I had to do some serious digging to even find this update.
It essentially says that there are “permanent DTC’s” stored within the ACM that even if cleared will come back. These DTC’s cause all kind of random glitches one of which is amp/subwoofer problems.
