I waited too long on Arch Type to develop and release their amazing rack. Last month I bought these Chinese racks so I could take my kayaks out, finally.

I paid about $30 less at the time. Today I bolted them up (pretty straight forward) and took my kayaks out. I like the holes on the end of the bars, as well as that they are wide enough to lay two boats side by side without having to lean one up on the other.

Nice. I've looked at these a few times. Wondering if they'll work with the Trektop on my 2 door.

Same. I wouldn't use it for anything more than bikes or kayaks, maybe a small cargo carrier, but it would sure be nice to open up those options.

Exactly. I would've using it for kayaks and a canoe. Definitely not an RTT or anything.

I need to sell my factory rack, I doubt I'll ever re-install my hard top.

I dread removing and later again reinstalling the Trektop, it was enough work the first time. When the fabric is finally too far gone I may put the clamshell back on and try a Sunrider for a while.

Were they easy to install? How well did they end up working out?

Same. Thought I would switch back and forth for the winter, but not worth it. Mine stays in a garage and no harsh winters, so hopefully it will last a long while.

I kind of expect to find a pile of plastic crumbs when I pull back the tarp in 10 years.

For real. Mines hanging in the garage and I expect it to fall on my water heater and motorcycles at some point.. 😂

It wasn’t bad, the directions were more clear than other products I’ve had to assemble from Asia. The tools they include are a joke. A thin sheet metal wrench and a cheap pot-metal Allen wrench. It was soft and got wrecked…just use your own if you’ve got a better one.

Love that someone got these and can show real pictures. Do you have any pictures of the rail off and just the roof bolt attachments remaining? I'm curious if it looks stupid or not just leaving those on all the time so you can easily go back and forth with the rails as needed.

Interesting approach but I'm not seeing clearly on the Amazon sales page how the bars attach to the Bronco. Looks like there are some brackets that maybe attached using two bolts each to the Bronco sport bar? Maybe in existing threaded holes?

edit: found this similar bar setup having video of install:
