Amazon Kayak J-Style rack

had a question about a kayak rack. is it possible to just mount these onto the OEM roof rack?? or do i need another cross bar? if seen some pictures of some different ways people have mounted kayaks, but wanted to know if anyone has tried one of these. link below to the one im considering:

I installed these on our previous 22 4 dr with factory roof. They did do minor scratches so I would recommend a strip of thin rubber underneath the mounting surface.
