full disclaimer: i have a bronco on order.

seems like everyone here is ragging pretty hard about jeeps. but it would appear jeeps are available. so, most of us who might see a trail, will see many more jeeps (and even bronco sports) than broncos now. why isn't anyone talking about 4runners? they are quite capable off roaders too...

Say what you will but this is going to happen.

All vehicles will have autonomous capability by 2030 and that includes off road (read dirt road, not rock crawling). Bet on it - Bronco will have the capability too. Before you freak, notice I don’t say all vehicles will be fully electric, I said will have autonomous capability.

Having said that, I’m betting all car/truck brands will have electric options on each model line to chose that if you wish. By 2030 all Ubers will be self driving. You’ll have the option to not own a car but can call one up on your phone anytime and it will show up at your house driverless, take you to where you need and then leave to some central charging lot with hundreds of other self driving cars, all at the ready.

Disagree it all you want but the future is coming.

I don't understand the knee jerk reaction to new tech around here . . . seems pretty cool to me Make a one way trip on a trail and have your truck waiting for you on the other end? The ability to fully take in your surroundings? Why not?

There is a definite segment of the population who have no desire to drive. I guess they spent enough time being driving with electronics to play with that the act of driving is just not a thing they want to bother with.

This is what they want, and I guess that is OK as long as it is not mandatory.

If you dont have to drive your jeep while offroad, that free you up to watch youtube videos of people playing snowrunner offroading. So you get the feel of the dust in your face without having to put down your phone.

Also can yall imagine your on your favorite trail, by yourself enjoying nature. Then a train of self driving bro dozers plows by you. Then when the guy with 24" wheels slips a bead he try to pay you to fix his tire while he waits.
