Seems pretty on point with what we're seeing on here with the timing. Unreal... Maybe they shouldn't have done pre-orders until more of this was figured out. Previous ADV mentioned that the issues were "no big deal," but this sounds more serious.

They should stop giving us these false dates of hope - How many times has the date shifted now?
They did say previously that they didn't want to give any more expected ship dates, and that the next update we would get would be shipping/tracking information.
This is becoming very worrisome, and now they seem to have stopped posting about the Hardtop all-together...

I can't imagine that they have hundreds of units suddenly discovered to have problems.
I hope this is more of a gradual trying to correct the problem. Paint concerns seem to fit in with what was said to be cosmetic issues. And it was 80 percent whereas they serve for 100 percent.
FWIW, I went on the ac website and their backlog is at least 24 weeks.
I also watched a review of the ac hardtop. Several times the narrator mentioned ADV. Pointing out the higher quality as well as the advantageous of a 1 piece.
I believe in adv, just frustrating that a

ADV not shipping them until they are 100% correct is their way of protecting them tanking from warranty claims. We've all come to expect a perfect hardtop, whether OEM, ADV, AC, etc. So for anyone who orders a $6,000+ hard top, perfection is the expectation. ADV is protecting their dollar, so they would rather "waste" money now than have to deal with warranty claims and shipping new hard tops later. Warranty claims would likely tank them faster in the future than their loss of money now.

That is a very good explanation of the situation.
Thank you

I don't disagree, but they shouldn't have built all this hype on marketing videos so early and providing shipping dates. I know they're trying to communicate and be open, which is good, but if there's a feeling that date may not be hit - Don't start stating dates. Don't release your marketing videos to drive excitement and additional orders.

Focus on getting your product made and at a high quality and out the door, then do your marketing material to showcase it.

Is their top better than others? Probably. But their tops aren't out yet, so it shouldn't even be a conversation right now.

All true, but they are really in a no-win situation now.
They go silent on the forums and everyone wants to know why?
They send out an "expected shipping date" and everyone complains when they miss it.
they release a bunch of hype videos and everyone wants them to stop posting videos and get the tops shipped.

They stop making promises as to shipping, and everyone wants a date.
They stop posting videos and everyone wants to know where the headliner/install/etc video is...

I completely understand their desire to make sure absolutely everything is right with their tops.
We all saw Anderson get bashed for tops where the paint supposedly didn't match between panels, and Ford has taken an absolute beating over the quality of their tops.

I just want full and honest transparency as to what is going on...

I agree with this opinion and just worry about the interweb chaos causing mass cancellation’s when we’ve all made it this far.

It sucks to not have a hardtop in hand but I believe they will sort it out and better late than flawed.

Agreed on nearly all of it. But when do you cancel? When your Bronco has 25k miles 50k? January, February, next August? And if it’s figured out how come not one has shipped. This isn’t a Henry Ford assembly line after all. You have all the materials. The problem(s) were identified well over a month ago and not one unit is shipping? None of what they have said explains it at this point. Nothing is ever going to be 100% warranty proof.

This is starting to sound like Glassworks Unlimited all over again. John used to work there until Tim, the owner went out of business. Not sure how it actually went down, but John opened Advanced Fiberglass and is now using all of the old glassworks unlimited molds. It would seem that before taking on this hardtop venture that he has been able to operate much more efficiently.

You can see countless threads on other forums with people complaining about Glassworks Unlimited, a lot of which are sounding similar to this thread. Although John is much more communicative than Tim ever was, he gives extremely vague responses. If he was more transparent about the issues they are having, he wouldn’t have everyone on here coming up with all kinds of conspiracies.

Oh boy...now you opened up a can of worms. Here is a screen grab from just a simple search and google reviews.

Same theme for nearly every review 🤦‍♂️

Kudos to those sticking it out, especially “first orders” from February 2021. Getting close to the 2 year mark.

I know there are plenty of folks ordering stuff over labour day due to sale prices. Too bad the hard top is not included in the sale - 15% may have swayed some folks to hit the purchase button

I wonder if they don't have enough people and are hesitant to hire some final assembly "expert" help.
My two friends keep asking me on the statis of the top.-- they are not ordering until they seen mine-- they both want 1 piece.
One told me that new orders are expected to be shipped in 12 weeks--- I started hysterical laughing-- her husband (who doesn't want the top) said they are not ordering util they inspect mine.-- they ADV ,have to have an inventory of finished tops ready to go, OR there is a big Fn%%% problem that is screwing the whole assembly up.
I'm the same as your friends. I have a buddy that ordered when it was first announced. Waiting to see how is handles road noise, squeaks, leaks, etc... I'll probably do the one piece also. Even with the soft top, I prefer to just take it all the way back to the spare tire. Hopefully a lift can take the whole top off at once....
