New member but thought I'd share this tip to save everyone else a heart attack.
I just got my 2024 BL and am starting on the upgrade cycle. So I was attempting to swap out my stock light switch with a dual fog control and ran into an issue and thought I'd share the solution since I didn't see it come up in a search.
The setup. Pulled the neg cable on the battery swapped the light switch in the cab and reconnected the cable. Well she was throwing all kind of error message expected since I swapped hardware. Went to forscan and did the DTC reset everything cleared except for ABS and on the display I was getting a "Low battery" and "brake system" error. I tried it a couple more times with no better result. Tried restoring "AS-Built" for no luck. Attempted a short drive around the block nothing still throwing the same errors.
Was seriously thinking I'd messed something up when I remembered I had a similar issue on my Transit when I went and disable the headlight warning (swapped to leds).
Solution connected forscan in acc mode then started the bronco and issued the DTC reset, shut off and back on.
Error cleared and everything appears normal again.
Hopefully this save someone else some time and worry.
