Bumper Types
  • Modular
  • Capable
  • Standard (With OEM Fog)

Lets start with the Modular Bumper-

The Modular Bumper Has Many Options available. SPV Parts carries a wide Variety of these, including our own kits and variations using top brand lights from companies like Rigid Industries, Diode Dynamics, Baja Designs, Morimoto and others.

For the Bronco Raptor Owners out there, take note. The Bronco Raptor has the SAME Modular Bumper with one exception. There are 3 tabs welded on the bottom edge of each side where the OEM housing Ford has attach the the lights and the splash panels under the bottom on each side.

In the Baja Designs Arena, we at SPV Parts have our own version of a Triple Fog Kit. We have 2 actually. One that includes 3 Pairs of full Size Squadron lights and one that includes 2 Pairs of Squadron Lights and one Pair of S2 lights. (Photo and links Below)

Now, lets dive into the differences....

First off... All of these kits are excellent choices. Each and every Bronco Owner has different taste and in many cases different needs. That's one reason we try so hard to offer as many options as we can to fill them all.

That said, one of the main reasons we came out with our triple Squadron kit, was because when we looked at the amount of space in those pockets. We could see that we could easily fit 3 FULL Size Squadrons in there for MORE power. You don't just need to FILL UP the space with metal frames/bezels.

While in many applications where those frames/bezels to fill in space are great options. We really like having the ability to fill the entire space with LIGHTS.

So lets look at it this way. An S2, is 1/2 of a Squadron. Or... a Squadron is equal to 2X S2's. So if we have 3 Squadron Pairs in the fog pocket. It equals 12 Pairs of S2's... Do you follow?

So a kit with one Squadron and 2 S2 Pairs has 30% less lights. So if they fit and they look good? Why not fill that gap with lights instead of covers? At least those who prefer that option.

Here is a great demonstration video comparing the kits-

One other great feature with the SPV Branded kits is our PATENTED Plug N Play Harnesses. Our Harnesses make installation simple.
Our harnesses use INDUSTRIAL grade materials. Not only are they the easiest modular harnesses on the market, but they are also the most durable.
While the industry standard temperature heat rating is around 221 degrees (105C). Our heat rating is at 392 degrees (200C)

Here is a cool video torture test we did putting our harnesses and others out there provided by various light manufacturers to the heat test.

On the Bronco Raptor.... These SAME kits are applicable. Again, the only difference are the tabs that are located at the bottom in the rear which hold the splash panels. We created a snap in part that allows you to reattach the panel to the tabs so you can keep the same great look. Just be sure to let us know if your Bronco is the Raptor version so we can include those panels.

RAPTOR VERSION OEM Upgrades with BAJA DESIGNS-

If you have a Raptor version and you prefer to KEEP the OEM Plastic Housings... but want better coverage or output. We also have BAJA Designs S2 Upgrades that can SWAP for the Rigid SAE lights in there.

You can choose from the SPV Branded Kits or the Baja Designs Branded Kits.
Both kits use the same S2 lights. However, there are some slight differences.

Before I go into to much detail on the Baja Branded kit, I want to make everyone aware that their kit is marketed at the F-150 Raptor. There is NO indication that it works for the BRONCO Raptor. However, rest assured it does. As does ours which is cross platform. The outer plastic housing are shaped different between the F-150 and Bronco, however, the form and mounting around the lights is the same... as both use the same lights.

The Baja Designs Branded kit (In the NON SAE) include one light pattern in the lights in the S2 Pro - Spot and Wide Cornering and then includes Amber lenses of the same pattern to swap out if you want. It also includes one pair of Black covers.

Here is a link to the BAJA Branded Kit-
https://specialtyperformanceparts.c...-s2-pro-fog-pocket-kit-fits-21-on-ford-raptor

Then we have the new Baja SAE (Street Legal Kit) which does not come with swappable lenses, but rather a choice between all clear or all amber but both are SAE.

Here is a link to the Baja SAE Branded Kits-
https://specialtyperformanceparts.c...-s2-sae-fog-pocket-kit-fits-21-on-ford-raptor

Now, on the SPV Parts Branded kits we have them broken down where you can choose between the S2 Sport, Pro and a second kit where you can choose ONE SAE Pair and one Sport or Pro or with BOTH pairs in SAE and in any case you can choose any color lens Clear or Amber and any light pattern (other than SAE which is one pattern)

Here is a link to the NON SAE Options-

Here is a link to the kits with SAE Options-
https://specialtyperformanceparts.c...-kit-with-brackets-and-baja-designs-s2-lights

So lets break down the differences in the SPV Kits and the Baja Branded kits...

First, both have plug n play adapters to connect right to the factory connections from the OEM fog lights.

The SPV Kits use our mounting plates which we designed to be a most durable. We feel that using all 3 mounting points (like Ford did) like a triangle, will hold up in the most extreme offroad applications vs the left and right side mounting with the Baja kit. This is because the lower mounting point can stop the up and down harmonic vibration from up and down motion with a vehicle where a side to side is already handled with the side mounting.
While this extra durability may not matter to most. We just prefer to make our products extra durable.

You will notice in this photo how our brackets mount to all 3 axis points, not just the side 2. From there, the OEM S2 Brackets are used to mount to our bracket -

The Baja Brackets will mount to the side as shown here -

Again, both are excellent choices and in no way are we claiming either are a poor choice or poor quality. We just feel our concept applies more structure for the more extreme or bumpy on/offroad driving.

Now keep in mind, as stated above. The S2 is 1/2 a Squadron. So in going this route you will retain the Ford plastic housings, but 2 Pairs of S2's would be equal to ONE Pair of Squadrons. So, a triple Squadron kit will give you 3X the lighting as these equal options will.

Now we have some videos for you to watch that demonstrate some of the kits-

Next, lets look at RIGID Industries Options on the Modular Bumper -

In the Rigid Industries Arena, we at SPV Parts have our own version of a Triple Fog Kit. We have 2 on these categories as well. One that includes 3 Pairs of full Size D-Series Pro lights and one that includes 3 Pairs of Radiance/Scene Lights. (Photo and links Below)

In Contrast, Rigid Industries also has a kit with 3 Pairs of SR-M's

Rigid Industries Kits-

So, in summary between these. As stated before, all these kits are great quality and a good choice.
However, as stated earlier. When you go to an SR-M, just like a Baja S2 is to their full size Squadron, so is an SR-M to a full size D-Series Pro. They are 1/2 the full size lights.
So if you like the look of the slimmer lights, then there you go. However, with our FULL Size Triple Fog Kits, you get twice that output.

That leads us to the Bronco Raptor with the Factory Fogs. These kits also work for those.

Just like the Baja S2 kits in the first section that can replace the lights in those OEM housings, you can also get our direct replacement kits for the SR-M low power SAE's that came from Ford. So if that look is what you are going for, then you are in luck. We have those kits too. Rigid does not have a version like this however.

Here is a link to the SR-M Replacement kits. (As stated before, Bronco F-150 and Bronco Raptor have the same kit)

While on the Rigid side, they only have the one kit and the rest of the kits are Our SPV Kits with Rigid lights. Like previously noted on the Baja Kits vs our. One of the biggest differences with our kits are that they come with our high end plug n play harnesses.

Now we also have some videos demonstrating some of these kits and their features-

Rigid Radiance/Scene-

Rigid D-Series-

Next up- Diode Dynamics with the Modular Bumper...

This is just the first segment... We will be adding to this following with the other light brand kits for the Modular Bumper and then following with the options for the Capable and Standard Bumpers... So stay tuned... Watch this post as we will be adding a lot of great content and comparative features.

Yep, and sorry. If those were missed being added. I would guess I got pulled away and then back while writing that one. As you would guess it takes a bit to put all that together so losing your place can happen. In any case, sorry about that and here are the OEM replacements for the Standard bumpers WITH fogs.

It's also a good reminder that we promised to add to this post with more options as they came out for the other bumpers. There are some new ones so I need to do that.

These direct replacement kits for the Standard Bumpers (And Capable if you just want to replace the one fog) are a single direct replacement for the lights that came with the Bronco. These improve a lot over the stock ones.

Rigid Industries has a kit-

Does anyone know of any options to use the Base/Capable bumper's standard fog light connectors/wiring after upgrading to the Modular bumper? I'm not concerned about DRL options for the fogs, I just want them to work with the OEM fog light controls. I know I'm being super OCD in the grand scheme, but I loathe having dead switches in the cabin if there's a feasible way to remedy it.

Yes, we have the wiring necessary to allow you to utilize the OEM fog connection for aftermarket lighting if you switch bumpers to the modular bumper.
I can create a complete fog kit for you with discounts if you let me know which lights you want.

Feel free to call or text me at (317) 934-6778.

Thanks!
