So the tracker just updated to delivered. Haven’t heard from my dealer yet. It never updated to shipped so now I have to spend all day tomorrow getting everything together. Unless it’s an error 🤷‍♀️ Let’s hope not!

Mine is still “in production “ on the order tracking site. Even though ford tells me it’s been built since 8/8. Is there another dirt mountain situation happening here?

Still waiting on a build and transit status and still in-production: (description of build in signature line)

I tried the Ford chat and was connected to a nice gal, named Mary. (I always think of Andrew Dice Clay when I hear the name, "Mary"... Nursery rhymes will never the the same after Dice..., but I digress)
She said your 8/1 build is still "in-production" and delivery is targeted for 8/27. Not so sure what that means... She actually highlighted "in-production" in her statement... She provided me the link to the Ford Tracker website and ended the session.

She was nice, but really no new info...

Okay so as I mentioned earlier in my response to @KPLOBX, there are two price protections in play.

The early reservation price protection sticks to your name, NOT your specific order. You can use your reservation price protection on any Bronco, except Everglades, Raptor, and (presumably) Heritage. It does not have to be the Bronco attached to your reservation. The retail price protection, on the other hand, sticks to that specific order.

So the long and short of it is... you could use you early reservation price protection on your Jan 2022 order if you wish. That's why I'm asking—trying to understand what you ordered and when.
I've spoken to Ford CS and the dealership, and have received some clarification, even though it doesn't fully answer my question. The certificate that is currently being used for 'price protection' is based on my original October 2020 reservation and is good for only $695. Ford apparently then sends any remaining 'price protection' money to the dealer once the purchase takes place via rebate check and it appears they have discretion to either keep this money or send it the customer who bought the vehicle. When I spoke to the dealer, they said that they would send any additional funds they received from Ford back to me, but then also said 'Well I know that these are going for $10k over sticker, and you're getting it for MSRP, sooo....' which makes me think that they would just assume pocket that extra cash.

Huh, interesting that the certificate is only good for $695. Did you originally have a Wildtrak on order?? If you ordered a Badlands it should be $825.

But anyway, you encountered a common problem. The dealers are supposed to provide retail price protection to you up front. But if the order doesn't get verified as sold to the original order holder due to various reasons (last name changed due to marriage, your address doesn't match the address on the order, etc. etc.) then Ford can deny the reimbursement to the dealer.

To protect themselves, what many dealers do is forgo the retail price protection until Ford reimburses them for the difference in invoice pricing (usually 30-45 days after the vehicle is sold). After they get their statements from Ford, the dealer will send you a check for the difference in cost. BUT, obviously this requires you to put a fair amount of trust in your dealer, and I can guarantee you that many dealers who do this will pocket that extra cash and just say "oh Ford never sent us anything", or they will conveniently forget to send you a check.
My original October 2020 reservation was for a Wildtrak. The wife and I decided that the MGV seats would be a good idea on a vehicle with a removable roof, so we changed to the Badlands when the actual order was submitted. I will follow up with the dealer around the 45 day mark after purchase to see if they will be honest with me, but they said that they hadn't received anything from Ford for the other two orders they already received based on early reservations, so I won't hold my breath. I appreciate your time and information on this.

Maybe the color, HPR, is the issue with the delay.... Its a premium cost color. Maybe they are seeing issues with it... Of all the Broncos I've seen, Its the one color I have NOT seen on the streets.
