The most recent delivery of the litter has arrived!!!!![]()
meet Betty (after Betty Grable) I had the best intentions for my list of printed check overs from here…. That went out the window when I saw her
In between nasty storms here at the moment …. No hall no hail no hail! (We never get hail but it looks like it may this time!) but I wanted to get a quick post in for all you waiting

My dealer wouldn't take deposits, which worried me, but they didn't sell it out from under me. I was indecisive about which model/option and didn't see the freeze coming....stupidly....and it came when I decided - ugh! So I bugged my dealer for months trying to order and wasn't able to until March of this year, what a crock! Oh well. If it wasn't for a headache and impending severe storms with an hour drive home I would've fought more for discounts. My dealer guy was nice but I wasn't so thrilled with the business lady, there was a $500 "discount" on it but it was $500 more than I had originally signed for the price of the car, she kept trying to explain how it was the right price and she was being so nice giving me the credit that she would be eating, no, it's not the right price honey, but whatever at this point. When did you put your deposit down? I put my $500 down in ‘22 just before the ordering freeze. I ordered on 3/27/23 when the banks opened. When I went to pick mine up, I was surprised to be advised I was going to get a check for a little over $2100. Believe it was because of the freeze.
I had to take my price protection up the chain to the General Manager for my original order from Jan 2022. It was a nightmare but i wasn’t letting them keep my $5,000 in price protection and charge me the current MSRP! The Sales Manager wasn’t happy but i hope he learned somethings from his boss for the next person. My dealer wouldn't take deposits, which worried me, but they didn't sell it out from under me. Oh for those who were asking before what mileage when I picked her up - interestingly my odometer disclosure statement was 3 miles.....the car said 53....I did not take a 50 mile test drive! hmmmm who had fun with my car lol
Oh goodness if it was $5,000 I wouldn't have left without a hissy! Thankfully it wasn't up to what the current build and price is, but still it wasn't what I signed it was $500 more.I had to take my price protection up the chain to the General Manager for my original order from Jan 2022. ‘After a day of polishing , and a day of applying a ceramic coating she is ready to roll.
I’m getting a little over 20 mpg, but then again…break in period. My wife is constantly laffin @ me saying “this is the longest period of time I’ve watched you drive the speed limit in 25 years.”In my first 500 miles I’m somehow averaging 19 MPG. That is absurd for a 5000 pound truck on 35” tires that’s shaped like a brick.

I’m sitting at 632 miles and coming in at 19mpg too. I’m pretty happy there, hoping it keeps it up.In my first 500 miles I’m somehow averaging 19 MPG. That is absurd for a 5000 pound truck on 35” tires that’s shaped like a brick.
The key to better fuel mileage on any vehicle is RPM. If I keep my HD2500 Chevy below 1800 rpm throughout acceleration I get 24mpg. That truck is over 6500lbs and has more wind resistance than the Bronco. It is a diesel, but the same applies to gasoline motors. Wind resistance is relatively to speed. When going Under 50 mph the benefit of aerodynamic shape is minimal. In my first 500 miles I’m somehow averaging 19 MPG. That is absurd for a 5000 pound truck on 35” tires that’s shaped like a brick.
You are awesome!! I love it!It’s easy for me I am retired. I get great satisfaction of watching the long line of frustrated drivers in my rear view mirror that have to be somewhere soon. The great mpg is just a side benefit.
