I have the same question. And apparently its better to run hub centric vs lug centric. Im struggling to understand as well lol
Large spacers and big negative offsets will put more strain on the hub because the weight is moved farther from the bearing. Think of a lever. However, with the 1.5" spacers in question, that force is minimal and not something I would lose sleep over.

This video does a good job of explaining what I meant far better than I could ever do.
The 74Weld guys touching on offset, scrub radius, etc.

Good Afternoon,

Id like to start off by saying that i am 100% new to the off road/larger vehicle game. I have had cars my entire life so when it comes to larger tires, spacers and suspension lifts, im extremely inexperienced.

I recently purchased a 2022 Wildtrak with the obvious Sasquatch package and while i like the way it looks stock, there are a few things i am looking to do to make it look different from all of the other Broncos around my area. I am currently waiting on my zone 3 in lift to come in and be installed. I have bara 1.5 in spacers on the way as well. But i dont want to stop there.

Everyone knows the tires sling rocks like crazy and when it comes time to swap them out, i dont want to use the same kind. Ive been around a few Braptors and really like the size of the 37’s. Can i put 37’s on the Bronco with 1.5 in spacers and a 3 in lift with no clearance/rubbing issues? I dont intend on swapping out the wheels as i enjoy the look of the stock beadlocks. Would anyone have any recommendations for a 37 tire that they have had good luck with? Most forums i see dont involve spacers and larger tires. Also, this would be more or less street driven with very minor trail use, no rock crawling. I just want a more aggressive look to stand out a bit. I appreciate it.

Mike
Zone 3”, 1.5 spacers and 37” KM3 tires. JKS Max Tire Kit is probably the other thing you need. And I’m at 16,000 miles on this set up with zero issues.

Watch. A lot of good info and at about 17 min gets into wheel spacers. I’m not bashing spacers as I want 1 1/4in spacers. Just debating wheels instead at first tire replacement.

Hell yeah. Thats a nice set up man. I appreciate it. Any issues with rocks slinging everywhere with those tires?

As you might have guessed, wheel spacers attained a bad reputation in the community for a reason, but it isn’t as black and white as some make it seem.
A big first mistake a lot of people make when it comes to wheel spacers is getting one of poor quality. You’ll see a lot of no-names, poor-quality wheel spacers on eBay that are sold for an extremely low price and this is one of the reasons why people end up having a bad experience with spacers.

Things to Look for When Buying Wheel Spacers When looking for a spacer, pay attention to...The materials used, If it has a hub-centric ring to aid with weight rotation, What brand your product is coming from all of these things are going to make a huge difference.

A good example of a high-quality spacer that take a look at if you plan to get a spacer is the line of Bora spacers. They are made out of T60, 61 Aircraft Grade billet aluminum with a hub-centric ring. The materials and build quality are going to set you up for success when running spacers.

There are complications with wheel spacers for sure but doing them correctly will yield rewarding results! If you are planning on getting yourself a set, just do your research and measurements and follow proper installation.

Check my profile I wheel a lot and drive the highway just fine when done correctly. No I do not work for them I just find the miss information about spacer on the form pathetic.

BORA is who i went with when i ordered them. 1.5 in BORA spacers. They seem to be the most highly talked about brand when it comes to spacers. Thanks for the insight on spacers.

I guess im just genuinely confused as to the difference between using spacers and getting a new wheel with an offset that is different than the factory one. In my head it makes sense that they are the same. And i could be 100% wrong. To me, offset is offset.
Agreed. I’ve run 2” bora hub centric spacers on stock badlands Sasquatch setup for 20,000+ miles, including some challenging trails, with ZERO issues. Undue wear on the bearings? Maybe. But long term effects are in my experience insignificant.

just make sure you get quality machined hubcentric spacers and torque them down properly to spec.
