So ordered 2 sets of these off Crutchfield. Infinity Reference REF407F Reference Series 4" 2-way car speakers at Crutchfield I did my research and for a few dollars more they are worth the extra money as an upgrade from say Kicker. They come with the Ford plugs in connectors from Crutchfield at no charge and they are idiot proof. Different size connectors from the speaker to the factory plug. Just slide them over and install. Use the foam provided to cushion the back side on the dash. You will need to bend over or break off two of the speaker attachment points on each speaker so they fit properly. Grills come off easy if you take your time and watch the videos. Make sure on the rear pods you have the extra attachment point is out of the way or the cover will not lock on right. Took about 30 to 45 minutes to do all four. I did not use any bass blockers on these. Magnet is twice the size plus you get a get a tweeter and get rid of the cheap paper speakers.

This is my second 2023 Bronco. My first base came with the sub-woofer delete and pretty much sucked. No bass and very tiney sounding on the high end. My new 2023 Black Diamond has the factory sub-woofer and actually sounded way better them my non-sub version. Actually, Hard top on for the base system I would rate it more than acceptable. For just over $400 the new speaker take it to the next level. Better than the B and O systems for sure in my opinion. I still need to unlock the rears with Forscan and might add an amp depending on top off sound but I don't think I will need too.

Installed it was time to go for a drive and see how she sounded. What comes on? "Funky Town". Listen to it several times at different volume levels. Results- The Systems Sounds Fantastic. Good song to test the low-end base and the horns test out the highs and the new tweeters really shine. Very happy with the results and the bang for the buck.

I bought a pair of these Infinity speakers. After installing one in the passenger side dash, I used the fader/balance to compare against the stock driver side speaker.

While the Infinity provides more and clearer highs, it produces less mid/bass than the stock speaker. I'm very surprised at that. Is there something I'm missing with the setup, maybe I need to change Forscan settings?

As a sanity check I had other people listen and they noticed the same. I expected the Infinity to have an overall fuller sound than the stock speaker, but instead got better highs due to the tweeter, but weaker mid/bass.

I think it's about expectations - I don't expect a noticeable amount of mid/bass from a 4" speaker. The beauty of the Infinitys is that they are crisp and clear at volume, the kick panel speakers getting an upgrade to somehting more efficient will help with the soundstage fill - I was happy enough with just the Memphis upgrade without an additional amp (others were not) I think there's enough bottom end if the sub is crossed over that you don't miss as much of the mids. I don't think theres any doubt that they are an upgrade over stock - just may need to fine tune the settings and possibly make a forscan adjustment.

One thing to note - the Metra adapter in the Bronco is wired backwards from typical convention --- White is Negative, Black is positive. You can verify this by checking the factory wiring going into the harness.

https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/speaker-harness-positive-negative-hookup.71508/#post-1892642

On the speaker itself, the larger tab is positive, the smaller is negative.

It's easy to reverse polarity on aftermarket speakers because of this, and they will sound tinny/weak/harsh/weird.

FWIW - I run these same speakers in my dash, with a 50W Kenwood amp, and I'm very happy with them. I do not use a bass blocker or any other hardware (the Infinities have their own built in crossovers, you can see the capacitors near the wire hookups), and I have Forscan set to just "Speaker"

"Funky Town" is a good one. I have my own playlist of reference tracks for testing speakers and mixing board settings. There's a variety of genres here. I'll typically pick something with vocals close to the singers if I'm mixing live sound.

Hysteria - Muse
Not That Kind of Girl - Die Happy
Owner of A Lonely Heart - Yes
The Look of Love - Diana Krall (quiet piano and vocals track, traditional jazz trio)
All the Things She Said - Simple Minds (Simple Minds is great for backing vocals checks)
Alive and Kicking - Simple Minds
Subterranean Homesick Alien - Radiohead (great for high freq checks; the high "pings" should be clear)
Tom Sawyer - Rush
Church - Galactic (great for bass guitar and horns/sax)
Go All the Way - Raspberries (if you can make this track sound good over your car speakers, you'll be pretty close to spot on, LOL)
I.G.Y. - Donald Fagen
La femme d'argent - Air (lots of repetitive motifs in this track, which makes it good for live sound speaker setup)
Last Plane Out - Toy Matinee (very clean master mix on this album, one of the best mastered albums ever IMO)
Witness - The Delgados
Hold Me in Your Arms - Brad Paisley (got to have at least one country track)
Bats in the Cave - Dopapod (heavy on synths, can you still hear the piano underneath?)
What's On Your Mind - Information Society (vocal parts should be equal and distinct)
Close To the Edit - The Art of Noise (unusual sounds and frequencies for mixing)

Maybe deserves its own topic thread?
