I just got our new 270 awning installed on our roof rack. One of the places we plan on using it is at the beach, where things can get a little breezy. To anchor everything down, I’m kind of dreading having to deal with the tangled mess of rope that’s shoved in the little pouch that came with the awning.
I’m considering this alternative approach where each pole will have a small length of rope already attached with a pipe hitch and include a loop with a taut line hitch to connect to a stake. This way, I can simply anchor each of the poles to the ground. Are there any drawbacks to this solution that I’m not considering? Seems like it’d be much quicker to set up.
