More contributions for Lighting.
The OEM reverse lights are absolute trash. Pretty sure that’s known though.
Since I didn’t have a factory hitch installed, the area below the spare tire seemed empty… and a prime position for a Reverse/Chase light.
I first had to remove the cover that went around the installed wiring harness for a hitch. And since I’m lazy and didn’t want to search up another YouTube video, I didn’t remove the rear bumper. What I did do is chop off the ends of the bolts holding it in and was able to successfully back them out. Once the cover was removed I relocated the wiring higher with zip ties. At this point I was able to mock up how the light would be mounted and wouldn’t ya know it… there were bolts there that were damn close to lining up. With some ingenuity I came to the conclusion to just using the brackets differently. Wired it up to up-fitter switch 6 and it came out great. If I end up needing a hitch later I can simply take it back off.
