2026 non B&O upgrade

Hi y'all!!

New here, just got my Bronco. Super pleased with it but the sound system is, how can I say this, not on par with how much this vehicle is worth. Mind you I lease this thing, i don't want to put too much money that I'm going to lose at the end.

Anyhow... Rebuilding the sound system from scratch is a big no, too expensive for a lease. For a simple speaker upgrade (Audison), Amp (JBL DSP) and a custom subwoofer, they quoted me $3.5k CAD all included with install. Not sure I want to put that much money on something I'll have to take out and have to sell on marketplace for a fraction of the price I paid.

So, my plan is to do it by stages and stop when it sounds good enough for me, not sure if it's the best way to go, you tell me! What is the single best upgrade you made that gave you a significant boost in the quality of the base sound system? Amp, speakers, sub? Any brand in particular I should look for? I just want to enjoy good sound with my top off on the highway, like I did in my Jeep. That thing had the Alpine sound system and it rocked.

And if I can get your input on some plug & play stuff it would really help.

Did not do in stages. Helix Veight DSP amp, new speakers and sub. Worth every penny if you like music. Do it right. Do it once. Resale? What do you think you will loose on the Bronco? Fun has a cost.

Fun always has a cost, couldn’t agree more. Wish my kids understood that concept.

Did 2 stages:
1. Hertz Dieci 2 ways in the dash and 6.5" rear pods. Did a 6.5 midbass in the kicks and tweeters on the dash. All on their own channels from 2 MB Quart 440x4 amps hidden where the factory sub was. Pac Audio 4ch interface and JL DSP separating and tuning everything to the amps.
2. DC Audio 18 running on a Kicker 1200w rms amp. Also hidden with the other amps

Which set-up(s) do you recommend?

It depends on the factory system in your Bronco, and how much you want from your sound system.

I have a 4-door with the factory non-B&O 7-speaker system (6+1 sub), and just installed the 6 speaker Alpine S package from Trail Seven (retaining the OEM sub). While it is subjective, I'm very happy with the result - big improvement - don't feel I need to make any more audio upgrades. The package from Trail Seven includes all necessary connectors pre-wired, so it is truly plug-and-play.

Of note, in the set I received, I noticed that Trail Seven pre-wired bass blockers (high-pass filter) to the 4" dash speakers, while the rear pod 4" speakers didn't have the bass blockers (presumably because the OEM system already filters rear pods). For that reason, they clearly label which set is for the dash and which set is for the rear pods. I'm using default OEM Forscan settings (as recommended by Trail Seven).
