THIS!!!!The master code is on a piece of paper affixed to the front of the fuse box located behind the driver’s side panel under the steering wheel. Pull down from the top to release the clips and the whole panel has a hinge on the bottom.
Sorry but the main code will always work.I'm pretty sure my code was on a single sheet of paper that mostly explained how to work the keypad. I had already read the instructions for my Escape about programming it, and it programs the same way. I had it reprogrammed before we left the dealer on the day I bought it. I wanted the same code for both the Bronco and the Escape. I DON'T want to use the official code, in case somebody captures my code. If that happens, I'll just reprogram to something else. You can have up to five programmed codes.
Getting the code was on my list of things to make sure I had before leaving the dealer.
You're missing the point.Sorry but the main code will always work.
Yes perfect sense and the way most people do it.You're missing the point.
I won't be using the main code, so nobody will ever see me putting it in to open my Bronco. I'll be using my other code to get in. But if somehow someone sees that one, then I can use the main code change it to something else. Does that make sense?
^^^^THIS^^^. was my experience. Dealer wants $165.Doesn't matter if you find it or not. The keypad isn't like the old hardwired ones. The code on the ecu won't match the keypad. It's programmed like a key. You'll need to contact your dealer to either find the code or have them reprogram it.
Of course they do. They love to fleece their customers over dumb shit. Man that grinds my gears.... Dealer wants $165.
