I have only seen one two door in real life outside of pictures on this forum and I met that one going 60 MPH. Mine is finally rolling down the line after 18 months since my reservation so it is starting to feel real.
I don’t have to travel far to several surfing spots and right now I can put my boards (in a bag) in the back of my truck. My “longboard” is 6’4” and fits in the bed of my F-150. When I am by myself, I can fold the front passenger seat down and put it in the front passenger seat. Anyone transported any surfboards with the two door Bronco yet. Can they fit in the back with the backseat folded down? Can you leave the back glass up and roll down the road with the tail sticking out? Looking forward to seeing how hard it is to get wax off of the washout interior!
I will probably be looking at racks for runs up to the Outer Banks. Any recommendations for some decent racks for the factory roof rails? My boys bought me a legit longboard as a goof when I turned 50 and I have some SUPs so one rack system that is versatile enough to handle everything would be appreciated.

Haven’t tried surf boards but just ran our skis to the ski shop yesterday. Didn’t want to hassle with putting our roof box on so did exactly what you asked about with my 2dr.

First - the seats don’t fold down flat so folding them opens things up a bit but not that much.

Skis of average length (172-178) did not fit length wise. Even placed diagonally the longer skis had to go between the front seats into the passengers side space.

You can definitely have the rear window open and have the boards hanging out the back but the taillight/spare won’t allow the boards to lie flat on the door.

I have the factory roof rack with cross bars. I added the Yakima Roof Platform to it. I would strap my paddle board right to that. I’m not sure of the width of surf boards but you might be able to put them side by side on this platform.

Going back to the rear window option - we also have a wrangler 4 door with dual/tops and I have driven many times with the rear window up and something hanging out next to the spare. I see no reason why you wouldn’t be able to do that in the Bronco with a surf board in a carry bag as a short trip solution.
