This is a great point, the 2 door wrangler is the best comparison you cant look at a truck and get an accurate impression since they are nothing alike
and keep in mind that the 2 door Bronco is about 8 inches longer than the Wrangler

For me it’s easy. Practicality and functionality equal the 4 door. A slightly bigger gas tank helps with 4 more gallons and 60-80 miles extra range. You aren’t going to feel the extra 180 pounds of vehicle weight. It’s like comparing getting a 6’ bed or an 8’ bed pickup.

A shorter wheelbase vehicle will generally feel more nimble and maneuverable. "I want a longer wheelbase vehicle because of the sportier handling" said no one ever. My short wheelbase CJ-5 was a surprisingly nice city vehicle, able to shoehorn into just about any parallel parking spot in Chicago.

On the other hand, if often carrying rear seat passengers, of if needing to carry more cargo, consider the 4 door model. Although sometimes people make a mistake buying for "what if" scenarios or for a once a year vacation. For example, I'd rather enjoy the shorter wheelbase vehicle in everyday driving if it meets 90% of my driving needs, and pack lighter for a once a year vacation.

But yeah if often having rear seat passengers, especially older folks who aren't up for climbing up the rear tires to hop in the back (when top is off), then consider 4 door. The wheelbase difference between 2/4 door is not huge, so either one should be a fun vehicle.
