I know there's been lots of discussion about the difference between the two build codes. I am getting confused by the many threads I've been reading. I just had my dealer change my order from 99 to 19. My understanding is that it needs to be 19 for the order to pull. If our order isn't pulled in 2021 due to constraints, will it get cancelled instead of rolling to 2022?

Thanks.

It's not supposed to get canceled. Your dealer's supposed to reach out to you and reorder a 2022 for you.

But technically yes at some point a 2021 order becomes void.

We are early morning 7/14 reservation, and had initially ordered a mod hard top, which is why we were 99 I believe. We changed to soft top in early July.

Depending on who you talk too you should have a chance. I’m surprised they didn’t 19 you after the top change in July. Yesterday or the day before someone just changed and then got a build date and vin. But…. then someone said BL and WT moving to MY22 for 99 going to 19? I’m guessing you still have a chance. I think the roof is the major issue which will free up other constraints. Good Luck!

FWIW, here is a quote from my dealer (my cousin, dealership manager/owner) about priority codes:

"(Priorities 10-19) at this point with the backorders, it really does not matter. All of ours are coded 19 or 99. The ones that are coded 19 are selected to be built in the order of the reservation number. If there is something on backorder, it skips to the next order and so on. I have been playing games with priority codes for years. When I read these forums and what nots, it makes my blood pressure rise when I read what some salespeople write. Most that work in a large dealership, have absolutely no idea what they are talking about when it comes to orders, because they are not allowed to process an order. A manager has to do it. They know just enough to be dangerous."
