Unfortunately, that old classic is long gone. I can tell you it had every option in its time, a Ranger packaged v8 auto, it had limited slip front rear ends, ac, carpet, root beer brown with white decal/stripes. I think it had 145 hp out of a 302 cid engine that would stall out on a steep hill...
My ā25 2 door in Desert Sand. This rig was special ordered by me in honor and memory of my dad. 50 years since our original ā75 was brought home. Hopefully this one will make as many great memories.
Normal for 3 reasons. Cold oil is more viscous and needs to circulate, warms up internals to reduce wear, faster operating temps reduce emissions as the ECU leans out your air/fuel ratios.
Replacing a transmission is gonna cost you ~5K. A replacement pan is a day and the cost to replace the filter and fluid ~$300/450. You can pay now, or pay later. Seems to me the stress alone of nursing that baby home isnāt worth it. My vote⦠fix it right before you seriously damage it.

Anyway, I would really like to hear it from a Ford rep on this forum. I looked at the Ford website and the engine I saw online looked like the old model. My gen AI search shows some mechanical differences to the engine, but no torque or HP specs.
My guess would have been that Ford would tune it a bit to drive a lower in rpm more useable torque curve and sacrifice a few ponies to get that right. I think they can easily squeak out 35 more ft lbs on regular pump gas. Maybe a reflash after ā24s are off to new homes? Or maybe the ā25 2.3...
Iām getting ready to order a 2025 2DR Badlands and Iām receiving conflicting information from Ford. Does anyone know definitively whether the HOSS 3.0 upgrade deletes the sway bar disconnect feature? Does the HOSS 3.0 rear sway bar addition diminish the broncos flex (RTI) capabilities?
