Have you looked into doing Bilsteins? I did the 5100’s on mine. Much better ride, lift I wanted, and bought Sasquatch take offs plus mine is a Black Diamond so essentially all I am missing to be the same as a Sasquatch is the front locker.
Yes I have all that and then some on top of it just figured that would make for too long of a post. Using my packout system for my tools and recovery gear. Any spare parts you recommend besides a tie rod setup?
It can be. We have only been once and it was the 2nd week of June. Temps were a record high hitting nearly 100 when we were there and we had several good hikes. There is a ton of wildlife to see so I’d say go for it and see what you can if you have time. Sheep Lake area is one of my favorites...
If you want to ride any trails together the 27th or 28th send me a pm. We don’t have any set plans for certain days for which trails so we are pretty flexible
I went ahead and got a reservation each day just incase. We went through that whole ordeal last time we went to Estes to get into RMNP. Nice thing is once you go in you can leave and come back as much as you want just have to enter within your timeframe.
If you want to hit any trails together...
Finally got all my new skids Installed and ready to go.
36 days to go
Build specs:
23 Black Diamond 4dr
“Self Squatch” with Bilstein 5100’s (~3” lift)
315/70 R17 Factory Sas Take Offs
Factory skids (engine, oil pan, transfer case, gas tank)+ 4WP transmission skid, Metal Cloak skids (Front and...
I put a o ring between the base and the mount and anywhere tension is used to secure the mount. This lets you have something to tighten to besides the metal/plastic and helps “grip” it. Has worked for me so far.
It isn’t a Sasquatch originally but I essentially made it a Sasquatch except no front locker. I actually sit a little bit higher than a Sasquatch when I compared it to another black diamond that came with the Sasquatch package.
We go to Moab Memorial Day Weekend and that following week. I have been contemplating a transmission skid plate. I have a Black Diamond so it already has the others but no transmission skid plate either. What one did you go with?
Any other tips for first time Moab trip? We plan to hit chicken...
They come with a plug with bare wires. Not a splitter. They sell a 2 plug splitter that lets you run all of these on one wiring harness that comes with the ditch light kit if you buy them that way. That is what is in the bottom left of this picture.
Now I get light out front as well. Not a great place on the Capable Bumper to mount a light bar without drilling or doing a roof bar so I have both forward and ditch lights now for way cheaper than investing in a roof bar or drilling into my bumper. Those two SS3’s with them pointed forwards...
Yeah, aiming my SS3’s straight and the SSC1’s really gave me good all around light. I have the combo light in the SS3 and wide on the SSC1 and they pretty much give me light all around from the driver door to the passenger door without any breaks.
I wasn’t sure if I’d like the look of it or not...
