I did figure out a formula ish for my vehicle. Since I have no weight my clicks are less than yours. Also I have 120 PSI in the rears so they’re more linear than 150 PSI.
On street:
29 PSI Load E Tires, 3 Clicks Front, 4 Clicks Rear and it rides better but not awesome.
Off Road:
20 PSI If I’m...
But the 250lb spring was too soft with your load right ? It was bottoming out. Do you think 250 would be perfect for me ? In my case? Or should I go even lower than 250? Maybe 200?
I emailed king and they recommended to cancel out the dual rate as they don’t even make it that way anymore. Replace the dual rate with a single progressive coil, ranging from 200 - 300 lb depending on your load and off road aggressiveness. In my case I think 200 would be perfect for me since...
While each spring has a specific rate, it’s their combined rate in the initial compression that gives you the softer feel at first, and then the suspension stiffens as you get into the bottom coil alone when you start driving aggressively off road.
Correct me if I’m mistaken.. The top coil is softer (400 lbs ) and it primarily handles small bumps, smooth driving, and initial suspension travel. When you're driving around on normal roads or light off-roading, the top coil compresses first, absorbing the small impacts and giving you a softer...
Hey there! I didn’t quite get you. You’re saying I should cancel the dual rate and just install a 250 lbs single coil? In that case, I think it’s gonna be too soft when off roading.
I’m going go try swapping out the top 500 lbs coil to a 400 and see if that will make the 350 lbs compress a bit and work with the shock. I think with my lighter than stock in the rear setup now.. The car is running on the 500 lbs coil and not the 350 lbs since there is no weight.
It came like this from king themselves I haven’t changed anything. I also have a spare tire delete just like you do. So actually I have less weight in the back than stock.
To whoever has king shocks installed on his bronco.. What spring rates are you running?
I’m facing a problem with my kings being really really stiff in the rear and front. I’m running 500 LBS in the rear and 550 LBS in-front. I have no added weight anywhere. I have a spare tire delete so I...
Made it 120 PSI in the back and 150 in front and now it’s fine. I thought about lowering it more but I don’t know if having a low psi will damage the shock or not.
Thank you for replying! I tried adding weight to my bronco in the rear and I took a speed bump at a high speed and it was waaay more comfortable. Note that I have a spare tire delete in the back. Could it be a weight issue? spring rate ?
So I’ve just recently installed king 2.5 shocks on my 2-door Big Bend non sasquatch. The shop that installed it for me told me he had dropped down the psi in the front to 130 and 160 in the rear. I’m running 315/70/17 tires all terrain at 35 PSI. I haven’t changed the coils, everything is...
