Yeah I'm wondering if I should move the light and ditch the winch. Honestly, the only time the CEL comes on is on long trips when it's very hot. If I'm only city driving it never comes on. I am getting ready to sell it so I want to get it in as good of shape as possible for the new owner.
Wow! The value of this forum never ceases to amaze me! Thanks so much for sending this! I've been struggling with this issue for years. Check out the picture of my setup. I'm going to move the light bar to up above the windshield and see if that resolves the issue.
Quick update for everyone. Got the vehicle back from the dealer and the CEL was mysteriously gone so I drone it straight to the inspection place and it passed!
Am I nuts in thinking that slot was for a light? I'm surprised DV8 or my installer would not have said something ahead of time...
Really hoping someone can help me here. I have a DV8 FS-15 front bumper with winch installed and the Whipple intercooler and tune.
I have a check engine light issue and the dealership is telling me that it's because the winch is causing the turbos to overheat. This seems really weird to me but...
Love it! My buddies and I go to Dumont every October. Did you get the Intercooler from Whipple installed too? I think I am leaning more and more towards having the dealer kill the Whipple tune as well. The only thing I really feel like I'll miss is getting rid of the auto shut off at traffic lights.
So, my CEL stayed off for months until this past weekend when I took a longer trip than usual - about 170 miles into the desert. It came back on. Not sure what to do. Are you happy losing the tune but keeping the IC? How noticeable is the power loss?
I did get a faraday container for the FOB's to live in overnight. I'm also wondering what folks thoughts are on putting the vehicle in Valet Mode? Seems like at the very least it would not allow thieves the disable the Ford Pass app tracking, or am I missing something?
It's really unbelievable to me how much hate there is in this forum. For the people talking about how terrible California is who have never set foot here - I moved here 20 years ago from Michigan (where I grew up) and my family is very happy here. It's not because we dislike Michigan. We visit...
My front camera is damaged to the point where all my wiper fluid leaks out of it and the local dealer said they only have the part number for the front camera for the regular Bronco (without the wiper fluid option). Hoping that someone is aware of what the correct part number is here so I can...
Looking for kill switch (or other) recommendations for my Bronco as two Ram TRX's have been stolen (one just a couple of blocks from me) in the last week! Screenshots from NextDoor below. Thanks in advance!
Hoping to find some help here and really appreciate anyone sharing their thoughts/advice. Shortly after getting the intercooler installed and tune done at a local shop my check engine light came on with the following codes:
P007B:
Air cooler temp sensor performance bank one
P0096:
Air intake...
A good alternative to dry ice (which I've found to be a pain - literally) is just getting one of the large blocks that are usually in the same section as bags of ice at the grocery store and packing everything around it then filling in with regular ice. We did this a couple of months ago and it...
Not sure if this is helpful but I had a similar issue, took the Braptor in to my local dealership and they came back with "Hi Jeff, on your Bronco the engine light is on because there is a power cable running through the shudder grill not allowing them to work. "
Here is what I ended up doing for a recent trip from LA to Yosemite and Santa Cruz and it worked great with cargo basket and 4 bikes.
It does require the back roof off though.
My wife, kids and I are heading to Yosemite and Santa Cruz next week and will be driving around 20-30 hours (mostly freeway) in total over the week. I wanted to get any feedback or thoughts on my setup. We loaded up the four bikes yesterday and did a test drive to a local park about 6 miles away...
