I didn't need to do all of that to put in rivets. I did just went were the broken clips were and used that whole. Drilled slowly so not to go into the cloth top on the other side and put rivets in. Holds like a champ. Took all of 5 minutes. Used 3/16 short rivets.
So I'm about to take on this project myself. Should not be too difficult. One of the many jobs I had in Army was avionics mechanic. So this should be fairly laid out for me. The only concern I have is this. The Ford dealership told me I needed wire harness M2DZ-14335-J when I gave them my VIN...
