I think Ford is aware of the manual transmission noise all of us are having when the temperature drops. There is a TSB for the issue now and the dealer is replacing synchronizer parts inside the gear case. I'm not sure if FORD has put a hold on all these vehicles and wont deliver them to the...
I agree you should get Ford involved, this is not a normal circumstance. You would have to hit a curb pretty hard to bend an axle flange. The wheel would have significantly more damage. I've owned over 30 vehicles and hit plenty of curbs or objects and damaged many wheels. Never in my life have...
Hey there, I'm an ASE certified technician, ask them to check it with a dial indicator and show you how much runout the axle actually has. Make them put a number to it to compare against specifications. Just a shake in the vehicle tells me nothing. All vehicles will shake when raised in the air...
I would suspect all these transmissions have this noise at one point or another, there have been many complaints on this noise only with a cold engine. Mine made the noise this morning with 39 degree temps. Noise was gone by the time I reached the top of my subdivision. I'm still going to say...
Ford just wants the VIN for production dates to see how many vehicles will be affected before they make an assembly line correction to end the carnage. Lol
May be a great idea to get the transmission engineers from Getrag involved. Synchronizers tend to make noise during the actual shift from gear to gear when they are attempting to bring the next subsequent gear up to speed. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this is truly just a fluid viscosity...
I have noticed this noise as well since the temps have dropped in the morning. The noise is present with clutch pedal released in neutral. Noise goes away after clutch depressed or when vehicle warms up. 2200 miles on my base 2 Dr. I was a Ford tech 20 years ago and now I teach high school auto...
Check for a leak both cold and hot, may be leaking on a cold engine. When the engine warms up, the coolant evaporates with the heat and then you smell it. (20 years as Ford Technician).
I don't have adaptive cruise control, so no issues there. I used my winch today on a logging trail in Mark Twain Forest. Got stuck in mud over front tires. Worked great.
Installed RC high mount winch bracket with Badlands winch. I haven't cut bumper plastic trim yet. Any ideas on using a different material? Don't want to cut the factory trim pieces.
