it did get fixed. Those brackets are actually slotted and bolted. The plastic housing just pulls down and you/they can access the bolts. Just slide the high side down and bolt it back in.

The bracket on my driver’s side is noticably higher than the bracket on the passenger side. This is why the top can latch, but it’s still higher than the other side.

i wrote that one wrong. I took the driver side off first, and I reinstalled the driver side last.

I did. I uninstalled both, and put the driver side on first, then the passenger side.
