The nut is recessed in the top hat...what tool do I need to hold the strut piston and loosen that top nut at the same time? (I have a spring compressor to remove tension)

Hopefully the picture shows it. The driver side window "triangle" is wearing through to bare metal on the a pillar side. No idea if anything can/should be done about this... passenger side is fine.

An idea on my drive to work today. A plug for the front defrost vents that aim at the front windows. Since apparently there is no way to disable these, they blast hot air at my eyes while driving in cold weather. Would be nice to stop that and redirect air to the floor.

Often when I shift into 4lo, I hear a bad bapbapbapbapbap sound of something spinning but not fully engaged. Then I get an error msg saying 4x4 shift delayed, pull forward. So I put it in drive, move up a foot, try again and it usually works. Normal? Terrible? It's certainly embarrassing...

I thought this would be trivial to pull out with a multitool. I'll try some high quality needle nose pliers, but has anyone pulled one of these out? Not sure if I should be trying to rotate or bend it out...pull straight, etc. It put up a solid fight for today so I'll tackle it tomorrow.
