Well I'm kind of on board given how much the price has gone up over the years. But if you like driving around with the roof off, it's the most comfortable option. You don't need a Sasquatch to drive on 99% of surfaces.

Why not? If you're not doing serious offroading with your $50k+ brand new vehicle under warranty you don't need the stronger front axle.

Is it expected that the metal brackets are thin enough to not interfere with the hard top? Because the tops do not fit as snug as without the brackets (obviously) and I can see daylight with everything installed....

They were devalued when they started failing. Them acknowledging the issue doesn't make it worse.
