  1. 93 OCTANE S 87 OCTANE AND RESULTS?

no arguments here-- I was just pointing out the actual gains may not be as noticeable in the seat of the pants as often claimed.
  2. 93 OCTANE S 87 OCTANE AND RESULTS?

Funny how there is the misconception that higher octane has any thing to do with actual fuel economy -- the bottom line is ----Octane Rating is a fuel's resistance to knocking. Higher octane ratings do not mean more energy. In fact all gasoline has the same amount of energy and there is no...
  3. No V-6 Two Doors??

no truer words could be spoken if you own a "pavement princess" - but for some of us getting used to the 2.3 turbo lag off road sucks. Manual mode and 4 lo eliminates it but when you need tire spin why would you want to wait for it to spin up-- there is no lag in the 2.7
  4. No V-6 Two Doors??

The two door with the 2.7 is available in the Stroppe model only-- been that way since 2025. The Auto 10 speed is the same transmission no matter which engine you choose.
  5. E85 - Simple Yes or No

Gotcha. For me I never saw any real difference in performance with higher octane-- I primarily use my Everglades for off road so that may explain why for me there is no difference. For us in the great white north E-85 is not an option anyways--but we do have non ethanol fuel which there is a...
  6. E85 - Simple Yes or No

So how does that work out cost wise? Seems to me either running straight 87 would be cheaper and easier. Just doing the math it seems to be more costly to run E-85 given the reduced fuel mileage combined with buying more expensive 93 fuel. Bronco's are not designed to run on 85 so I ask...
  7. Territory MT vs territory RT replacement tires

there are much better choices out then the Goodyears
  8. Ford charging 20k for a MIC hardtop outside 3/36k warranty

do you really think that there's any personal information there that a 2 minute search through public records or on the internet cannot find?
  9. I knew there’d be some wind noise, but this much?

The key to eliminating wind noise is aggressive tires-- Generally anything over 45 all I can hear is the cooper STT pro's. In all seriousness you bought a vehicle with a soft/removable top-- there will always be some road noise--and it will get worse as time goes on--as the seals continue to...
  10. Park Brake Fault Service Now

On my F-150 happens all the time--especially in the winter--just get used to it
  11. Auto transmission occasional harsh upshift, normal?

when the temperature drops it becomes nature of the beast
  12. GOAT Modes

the biggest benefit with the goat modes is certain modes allow you to lock the front locker in 4WD Hi. In normal you cannot. it will also temper the throttle response but to me that is a big down fall which is why I seldom use them.
  13. Comments you received about your Bronco

"I've never seen one of those before"
  14. Damn photo radar

Funny, up here the biggest worry I have is getting caught on someone's game came trying to get to the best hunting spots
  15. Comparison Test: Best All-Terrain A/T Tires For Winter, Snow & Ice

I have found that the Bronco like the Rubicon with mud tires on it is better off parked for the winter--unless you get a 12" plus snow storm. Hard packed and ice you are better off walking-- well safer anyways. For winter driving I'll stick to the Audi Q-5 with studded snows or my F-150 with...
  16. Octane in 2.7 EcoBoost V6

there must be more to the story-- maybe wind conditions, weather, road surface --something. that seems like way too much of a variable-- but even if the results are really typical it is still cheaper to run the 87 octane (assuming $.75 a gallon difference --sad but true. )
  17. Octane in 2.7 EcoBoost V6

"Less refined" is not technically correct since all gas has the same refinement specifications-- the difference is the additive package for the particular fuel which is added after the manufacturing process--it is added when they fill the tanker trucks which deliver the fuel to the gas...
  18. Autumn colors & Bronco - Post them up!

It's about over in Northern Maine--trees are getting bare
  19. What accessory goes between the antenna and side mirror

On the Everglades mounting on the passenger side requires different light mounts due to snorkel clearance
