Well you're half right. You can just buy the receiver if you want (ie. use as a bike rack) or buy them together as a package (for towing).

For a bike rack, I don't see class III or IV being necessary. But for actual towing, it'd be a good idea. Depending on what Ford gives us to bolt to, or weld. I used the Class II on the Jeep, it was simple and is rated to handle my trailer, but yeah I'd prefer to go a little beefier with the...
