These codes popped up again today. Idle sounds clean. Not noticing a loss of power or unusual noise under acceleration.
Plan is to check the Crankshaft position sensor, possible I missed cleaning it on the first sweep. That a sound 1st step for this code?
Its an OEM replacement so it won't fix worn out or loose hardware on its own. I recommend adjusting the latch handle screw before purchasing to make sure its not overly worn. I do make washers but that's a bandaid fix.
Update for anyone that's interested. Worked on it after teaching class for the last two weeks. Downloaded tons from the WSM pulled the cam solenoids and cleaned them out, (obvious contamination). Cleaned main harness connections and pulled + cleaned grounds. New spark plugs 1 new oil control...
Codes read. P0304, P0019, P0025, P0300, P0306, P0305 and P054D. Going to inspect and clean connectors before I take it in. Unfortunately the charging system fault lit up today on the way to get codes read. Gussing I didn't flush the alternator out well enough and after the mud dried it wore...
To be fair the first two where not from being in water/mud of unknown depth. It was from some comparatively light off roading with some mud intrusion.
No I don't usually go into water of unknown depth. However I am guilty of failing to walk this segment today. Especially dumb of me as I...
Mine is a Wildtrak with a 2.7 6 cylinder. Alternator is lower passenger side of the engine bay. I am on my 3rd alternator. I enjoy the Florida mud more than I hate putting in new alternators. I am surprised this one didn't die immediately. You're 100% right alternator was definitely submerged...
Rough day for the Bronco bashing around with the kids. Got stuck in the mud and had to get recovered. Got high centered really good and got drug out. I have engine bashplates but no transmission bashplate.
No obvious damage.
Drove out to the wash station and rinsed everything down. Check engin...
Its my daily driver. Lots of summer road trips with the kids just shy of 50K since aug of 22. There are a few on here that put serious miles on it though.
Unfortunately another ruined batch of parts. To be honest probably take a bit to recover from the loss. Anodizer hit them with the wrong color, mechanically stripped the parts and anodized them again, threw the specs off and quite a large lot of parts is trashed. I'm on my way back into town and...
