You can use them together yes. I will try to get a picture later. The pull out sits a bit lower. So you can have your stuff/tools sitting on the pull out and use the fold down for prepping and cooking or cleaning up fish etc.

Yeah that is one downside. But I run a Pro Eagle, not the factory Jack. And it will not fit down in the storage area. This way, when there is downtime at camp, I can use the Pro Eagle to bench press (fuckin heavy) and get a pump goin...cause how many times do I really use this dumb expensive...
