We haven't hesitated to let our kids to drive our Broncos, and they LOVE them.
Are they safe enough? I had a high-speed rollover crash while off-roading in our Raptor (completely my fault for driving past my abilities in unfamiliar terrain) and walked away virtually unscathed. Rolled 3 times...
Iāve got the same enclosure minus the slide since I already had the American Adventure Labs floor and fridge slide. Your suggestion for the prop rod is awesome. Thanks for that!
So far, the rattles havenāt been bad at all, but will use the heat shrink method if it gets worse.
Great write up!
Awesome video! It was great meeting you and such an awesome group of people!
If anyone is considering the trip, you wonāt regret hooking up with EXO. They are a first class outfit that takes great care of their group!
Iāll be back!
-EXO Bronco #9 aka āFlipperā
Used the Baja brackets that came with the lights and mounted them to the torx screws in the top of the bumper.
Had to modify the bracket slightly so that they wouldnāt hit the grille. Iāll snap some pics tomorrow and post them.
Thanks! Weāve taken it to Colorado a few times for some mild off-roading, but nothing too gnarly yet. Got a couple of trips planned this summer and hope to test it out more.
No problems whatsoever with steering. Did buy a tie rod kit from @trickydick as cheap insurance (nice kit!), but hope...
Thanks! I did the speedo calibration with the Ford Performance tuner.
Sport mode does lock 9th & 10th gears out, so it runs in 8th. Good temp solution instead of re-gearing for now. Iāll eventually do the full Spicer axle upgrades when I can save up enough $$$ to buy the parts.
2 door Big Bend non-squatch, 2.3L, 3.73ās, King 2.5ās, 37x12.5 BFG KM3ās, Ford Performance tune.
I run in Sport mode at all times. Highway mileage @80 mph avg speed is consistently 15-16 mpg. Mileage is slightly worse in Normal mode and significantly worse in Eco mode.
I saw this build in person and it's awesome! After seeing the rack setup, I ordered the same one for mine. May be a few months before I can install it, though....
No worries! I didnāt realize they were different either until I got the Raptorš. Kinda ruined my plans for swapping a single set of beadlocks between the two.
Donāt know of anything for the mirror position, but you can get blue lenses for Baja Designs S2ās. If you happen to have a SwitchPro SP9100 unit, itās got a built in strobe function that could flash them.
