Thinking about fashioning a prototype using 8020 aluminum and straps, but haven't quite worked out how I'll accommodate the third brake light.
I think it would be better to hang something from an existing aftermarket rack/mount of some sort, but haven't found one yet that would work well for...
I did consider that option. Unfortunately, it also uses the hitch for a stability bar at the bottom, which defeats the purpose of moving away from the 1up hitch rack I'm currently using.
Still a pretty damn cool rack, though!
My bikes are all priceless to me.
Why?
Ok, I currently have a 1up roof tray that I'm not using and I'd like to hang it off the spare tire somehow. Why, you might ask? Well, I also have a 1up hitch rack, but I'd like to reclaim the hitch for actually towing a trailer - or, more importantly, reclaim my stock departure angles for...
BroFlaps for the win!
I prefer them for their flexibility off-road. Don't need to worry about breaking anything if they come down hard on a log or rock.
Damn, ok. Probably not a good idea to have it hanging off. Looks like the rack itself is listed for just 100 pounds, as well, so putting 300 static pounds up there while I'm sleeping is not a great idea. Oh well, was worth a shot.
Thank you! 🍻
Their process requires approval for an "Intent to Apply" step prior to submitting an actual permit application. It's essentially a "don't bother doing all the extra work for a full application" decision, which supposedly makes things more efficient for everyone.
