Iāve done some decent off-road treks.
Elephant Hill Road in Canyonlands.
Imogene, Pearl and Ophir passes in Colorado.
These are about the only times I have used my crawler gear, but as would be expected, it is an absolute beast in getting up the steep and rough stuff in 4L.
What might...
I agree that Zion is overrated, especially when coming from Yosemite. Yosemite is definitely overrun but has so many more options than Zion. Angelsā Landing and the Narrows are great hikes, but I actually prefer Canyonlands, Arches and Capitol Reef. Itās pretty easy to avoid the masses at...

I had a ā74 Volvo in college that I roll-started in reverse from its uphill parking spot at my apartment. I did that for a few months until I got a new battery.
I miss the days when working on a car only required a little shade-tree experience. I will admit that YouTube tutorials wouldāve come...
3+ years with my ā22 Badlands Mansquatch. I live in Austin but have made multiple trips west to Colorado & Utah.
Imogene and Ophir passes near Telluride.
Elephant Hill Road in Canyonlands.
Pearl Pass from Crested Butte to Aspen.
The 7MT eats these roads up. As great as the crawler is going up...
Cooperās BBQ in Llano is an institution. āOpieā of nearby Opieās BBQ cut his teeth there.
Enchanted Rock State Park between Llano and Fredericksburg. It fills up. Youāll need a reservation on the weekend. Not sure about during the week.
Arches is always crowded. I would go there on Monday or Tuesday to avoid weekend crowds. Plan on entering the park BEFORE 7 AM to avoid the need for a timed entry and to beat the crowds. Drive through the park to Devils Garden. I would do the āFull Lollipop.ā Itās a great 5-6 mile hike, passing...
Elephant Hill and Chesler Park are amazing. I highly recommend the additional drive to the overlook of the confluence of the Green and Colorado Rivers, on the way back from Chesler Park. It makes for a very long but even more rewarding day.
I did use my high lift jack to help me wedge my washing machine into a very tight spot.
My rear shock skids are still in the box. I need to get off of and lay on my a$$ to install them.
I enjoy my base stereo upgrade every time I drive and the peace of mind that comes with the Ford Performance...
Welcome!
Although I have a 2 door BL Sasquatch, I have been quite happy with the on road ride and off-road prowess of the vehicle. That includes multiple 2000+ mile road trips to CO & UT, as well as many very challenging excursions in said destinations.
