  3. Would you cancel a road trip this weekend with a Badlands (in forecasted winter storm)?

I find my Sasquatch slides easily on icy roads. I would not take chances. It is goung to be REAL Cold. Even on Slippery mode, I had problems.

  5. Detroit Free Press article about Bronco at Michigan Assembly Plant

I had one of the first Sport Badlands in Area 51 built there. Pretty good little buggy. The 2.0 was great.
  6. Article: My Name Is Sal Gusmano, and I Break Ford Vehicles for a Living (at Michigan Proving Grounds)

I agree. If you over extend a machine, without implementing strength enhancements, you cannot blame Ford. I remember driving Bronco in 1966 and the machine is definitely stronger now. Anything will break with enough leverage. The tie rods are strong but putting on 37s on a jacked up Badlands...
  7. A, B, or C cup?

Ha Have you had front camber checked. Also running at lower pressure doesn't help. Alignment shop should be able to check wheel geometry.
  8. When to use 4A (AWD ?) vs. 4WD in snow?

I wonder if 4A isn't used for a long time, then turned on ... you get issues ?? I drive my Herutage Limited in 4A in snow and it is perfect. 35s grip nicely.

  11. Rear shock recall done, shields installed. Pictures included

Do not think they will leak unless they break free and stress the connector to the shock. For those that have not been able to get recall completed maybe tie wraps and spacers made of rubber could hold off the detachment of reservoir temporarily. Mickey mouse but may improve safety. Looks like...

They do say on their website that you can be reimbursed I think.
  13. [EDIT:] Ford won't reimburse me for my recalled rear shocks.

Agreed, cornering and braking can be severely affected by lack of shocks. Safety check won't pass for sure. If police send you for safety check, vehicle could be removed from the road , worst case. Obviously, Ford may be liable in a lawsuit if you crash, especially if death occurs.
  14. My Experience With Ford Rear Suspension/Shock Recall

Is that the overhardened valve problem on the 2.7 ? Always wondered about the kevlar belt driving the oil pump on my 2.7... would it deteriorate and plug up oil passages ??? Metal chains also have their drawbacks as well, I am sure. Swapping that belt out probably requires an engine pull. Anyone...
  15. Mice in engine compartment

I had that problem on my Goldwing. Switched to oiled (red) k&n and put chicken wire 1/4 inch mesh over intake nozzle. Same thing .. no performance impact. Also use mothballs now..from time to time.
  16. Broncos and MICE.

Moth balls ? I put some in my slingshot. Hang bags under the hood near wiring. Wonder why they make tasty wiring ??
  17. Talk me off the ledge? (SAS set on non SAS OBX)

I wonder if Raptor takeoffs will fit on a Heritage Limited ? Need Lift ?
  18. 2.7 catch can?

Even FORD Performance says their catch cans are for off road. They appear to violate emmision standards . so only use in off roading. California especially risky, due to their extea emmision laws.
