My APIM was replaced almost three weeks ago, and I'm happy to report has been working flawlessly since! I first reported this issue on 3/22/22, only 3 days after I took delivery, so yes it was about a 5 month wait, which is completely ridiculous when they're able to pump out high volume...
Exactly!! They clearly have the modules as they far surpassed sales expections in q2, but they have to keep pumping out new vehicles at the expense of us. They have the modules. They could hold back 1% of their production and fix the vehicles they’ve already made, but no, they made their sale...
Yes, a few times now, and all have been very suspicious timing-wise....
It failed my second day of owning (3/20/22), I got it in a week later to find out it was this APIM issue, and then three weeks after that they replaced it, but said the new apim failed to take, but left the new one in...
I'm right there with ya bud... I've had a screen that's been in and out since the second day I've owned it (March 20th, mostly out, and has been completely out for the past two weeks...). All I know is the dealership will reach out when the module is available (they send me a text every few...
I hate to say it, but I've been waiting for this part since April. There was a month where it worked flawlessly, but over the past month it's been flaking out, and for the past 2 weeks, its been almost entirely dead (press and hold for 10 secs and 20% of the time it'll freeze on the blue...
Do you know what brand of 3/4" female plastic buckles you used? I attempted something similar myself only to find the 1" was too big (it's the strap size not the buckle size), and I just purchased 3/4" buckles from amazon only to find they're too small (the bronco buckles are thicker). Thanks...
This is a huge perk to the soft top. I ride around mostly with the top off, then throw it over when parked (takes 10 seconds), and then throw it all the way back when I leave (15 seconds). I usually keep the soft top windows off to do that on the fly. The other day, we had some surprise rain...
If other middle-class bronco owners are like me - we are heading into a bad recession fast the higher gas prices go. No eating or drinking out, no discretionary spending - just gasoline for my bronco and jet ski, home-cooked meals, and DIYing everything I can. Gasoline is the last spending...
Just did my own oil change yesterday. As recommended, I removed the oil filter first, then let it drain. It let it drain for about 75 minutes till I saw no drips. Unfortunately I cannot tell how much drained out because I spilled A LOT, (at least enough that took half a roll of paper towels)...
There’s a latch on each side you need to manually latch down after you take it all the way back. do that and no bouncing for me at least.
it’s similar to the latch above the rear seats that you need to latch in order to get the top all the way back on.
edit: I’ve never used the straps either...
Just heads up, when mine was replaced on 4/7, they said the new module failed to install, and left it in there and were sending me yet another replacement module.
Lo and behold, a little over a week later it starting working normally on a road trip over Easter weekend, and has been perfect...
yep bd mid here as well, I wonder if that's just a coincidence or an issue with the bd mid package. I dropped mine off at the dealer mid afternoon yesterday as they got the module in Wednesday and it's still there...
Just letting you know the dealership texted me today and said the module came in today and I’m going in tomorrow to get it replaced. At the minimum they’re already shipping them out so hopefully your replacement sync4 module will be here soon!! 🤞🏻
Oof, sorry to hear that! I guess I should feel lucky I at least have a Ford case worker updating me every few days and my issue is still active. Not that I hear any good news from her, its just a call from a 800 number letting me know they're still on it and still don't have an update on...
From a personal standpoint, yes, I completely agree with you, but it is federally required, hence why I though Ford might act with haste for this issue.
Also from a personal standpoint, it is literally impossible to back up an empty jet ski trailer with the Bronco soft top down without a...
So after a 574 day wait, I picked up my bronco on 3/19 (Saturday), drove it back to the from the dealership that day, and then the next morning drove across down to grab some breakfast (Kolaches!). When getting back in the Bronco, the 8" screen was black, and would occasionally try to boot, but...
I'm holding out with my $1,200 of Ford points and waiting on the day hard tops become available for sale as a whole package. $1,200 should make a nice dent in the whole cost of a hardtop. Not gonna lie though, being able to take the soft top off and on with ease in 5 minutes is pretty awesome...
They all start out as CSX, and then there's a rail transfer in Chicago to Union Pacific. Union pacific performs the actual delivery to Texas, but CSX can still track it, and they have a great, easy automated phone number with up to the hour information about rail car location.
I’d never leave anything of remote value in the bronco (maybe some towels or something but that’s it), but I’m more concerned with how hot the center touch screen could get baking in direct sun. I’m already in the shop to get it replaced after the screen died and went black 24 hours into...
