    I wouldn’t want to mess with the cabling for the usb hub. That hub supplies the wired connection for CarPlay if needed. As a power test, I plugged MagSafe into the usb c port but it only offered enough power for standard charge. An error popped up on the screen saying accessory not supported...

    3D Print your holder in advance and order all the stuff from the list. Remove the top console plate. Cut the hole for the holder and install the holder and charge puck. Wire and install the power source. Reinstall all trim panels that were removed.

    If you havent gotten any solid detail about the issue and resolution, It would make it hard to believe they are confident they have solved it. Which means it may happen again. Hard as it may be to get back in line, thats probably the decision I’d make.
